Bawaal Movie Update - Release Platform

The recent development of the Bawaal movie has shocked everyone. Fans of Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor are waiting for this movie but they might not like its release as the makers are planning to release it on the OTT platform. Makers recently announced the release date of the movie which was 6 October 2023 in theaters. 

Now the movie will not be released in theaters and instead will be released on digital platforms. A source from the movie told “Bawaal is among the most ambitious films by Sajid Nadiadwala that rides on a subject that does not exactly have the commercial trappings of dance and music. In the present market scenario, Sajid who has a knack for commercial cinema feels that it's best to bring the movie on the digital platform rather than risking it in theaters. He had a great deal with digital players and decided to drop the plans of releasing it in theaters”.

Reason for Releasing Bawaal on Digital Platforms

The makers released the Bawaal movie on the OTT platform as it was a beneficial strategy for them. They got a good offer from the digital rights buyers of the movie. Also, the other reason was the downfall of the previous movies of both Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor. On one hand, Varun’s last released movie “Bhediya” flopped at the box office, whereas on the other hand, Janhvi Kapoor’s “Mili” and “Good Luck Jerry” did not work at all. 

It's not that the actors were not told about the decision. They were informed prior to their latest movie release on OTT.
